This day and age it is so easy to change the way you look and dress. For some, it is a very tempting option to change up how they look with different hairstyles and hair color. They love keeping things fresh and new. Our natural hair color typically goes with our skin tone. And some people change the color of their hair and it still looks natural. But before you make any decisions, you should meet with your hair care professional and talk about what hair color is best for your skin tone and which ones to stay away from.
For anyone who is leaning towards dying your hair blonde, take this into consideration. Those with darker skin looking to go blonde, it is safest to the darker shades of blonde. Golden or lighter shades of blond work the best with a medium skin tone. Fair skinned individuals should stay away from the ashy, white, or blonde hair with reddish tones to it.
There are so many shades of brunette on the market now, how do you choose? So for those blessed with a darker skin tone, it is best to go with darker shades of brown. And a hint of advice, amber highlights look very nice worked in with dark brown hair. A medium skin tone would work best with nothing too extreme. If you stick in the middle of the spectrum from light to dark, you will be just fine. And for our fair skinned friends, we recommend warmer tones of brunette working with red or strawberry highlights.
You typically see red hair on people with fair skin because it fits them the best. With a darker skin tone, it is usually suggested to avoid the brighter reds and go with a more medium shade or lighter brown to fit your skin tone best. Light auburn or medium red/blonde work well with a medium skin tone. If you go too dark, it can actually have a negative effect on your skin tone. And fair skinned folks should stay with a lighter tint of red, because also, if you go too dark, it can make your skin look very pale.
